Esri's Geoprocessing and Analysis Demo Server

These geoprocessing services demonstrate best practices in their design, deployment and web application.
The services and downloads exist as samples only. They are not officially supported nor guaranteed to be 100% accessible.

Viewshed

The viewshed service demonstrates an optimized service where a user clicks a point, and the visible features from that location are returned and rendered on a map.
Note: The Viewshed service is also offered as part of online elevation analysis. Find more information on that service here.

Land Use Calculator

The land use service takes a user defined area of interest and intersects that with a raster polygon of the continental USA. The service computers land use by percentage within that study area and returns that information to the client. The web application renders this information into a pie chart.

Surface Profile

The surface profile service allows a user to draw a line, or path across the surface of the earth. The service returns a table of elevations across that distance. The client renders the table into a chart, visually describing the landscape.
Note: The Profile service is also offered as part of online elevation analysis. Find more information on that service here.

File Upload

The file upload service demonstrates the pattern of sending a file to the Server where the service does something with the file, and returns a result to the client. This particular sample takes a CSV file of points from an upload, and interpolates a surface, drawn by the result map server.
